Urban Air Market is thankful for all of our vendors who continue to support and participate in our shows like Los Feliz! We appreciate your talent, hard work & commitment to sustainable practices and are always thrilled to see success on numerous levels. Here are a few Urban Air vendors we’d like to highlight who have recently opened up a brand new brick & mortar store…congratulations!
Artisan perfumer Tyler Monk started LuVandus three years ago driven by his passion for fragrances. As a child, he created bath oils to sell in local markets then eventually found himself working in the restaurant industry in Sacramento as an adult. It was his passion for food and experience that led him back to his early love of blending fragrance. He began with candles but fragrances soon became his primary drive. After studying the craft of perfuming, he applied his knowledge of blends to create unique, evocative, gender-neutral parfums and body products.
LuVandus began in Monk’s home lab, with all products created in-home and sold across his website, big retailers and pop-up shows like Urban Air Market. Soon LuVandus line would be picked up by such notable perfumeries as Tiger Lily in San Francisco, Fragrance Vault in South Lake Tahoe, and several other retail shops within Northern California.
Recently, Monk moved their base of operations, LuVandus Labs, to Boar Haus Boutique. With a charming farmhouse-meets-industrial, Wyoming-meets-New York style, it’s a great fit as both businesses strive to provide high quality products to patrons of discerning taste. Guests will have the option of taking fragrance classes from Tyler Monk and learn about how to apply those fragrances to a variety of products such as body lotions, bubble baths, diffusers & much more.
Monica Zaidman has been pursuing her passion since she was a young girl, recycling her own clothes to design outfits for her dolls. After graduating from fashion school, Monica started her first label making clothes out of vintage lace curtains & tablecloths in her small studio apartment in San Francisco. From there she participated in local fashion shows with Danielle Cohen’s collective Missing Piece and also showcased with Urban Air market for years. Moona Star is Monica’s newest creation. Now in its third year, Moona Star is an integration of her lifelong inspirations and experiences.
With Moona Star, Monica gets to work with her dream team in the heart of the Los Angeles garment district, allowing her to focus on her passion for design, creative direction, and sustainable fabric sourcing. Moona Star has been steadily developing a core fan base in Topanga where Monica regularly hosts successful pop-ups and trunk shows, becoming the impetus for opening the Moona Star local flagship store right in Topanga Canyon. Make sure to visit when they open in June!
We are super excited to announce that we’ve opened a brick-and-mortar store in Glassell Park at 3351 Fletcher Drive! We carry all our own products plus skin care and gift items from other LA-based artisans — candles, crystals, hand-loomed cotton towels and blankets, greeting cards and more! Plus our new retail store is right next door to our studio where we make all our vegan skin care products and candles…how cool is that? We’re super happy to locate both buildings and snag them together. Inside our studio, we host DIY workshops in skin care plus other lifestyle subjects like Kombucha making and chakra reading. In November, we’re hosting 25 indie makers for our Indie Eastside event. We’ll have food trucks and live music, plus swag bags and everyone gets the opportunity to shop small for the holidays with their favorite artisans!
Show these vendors some love along with 100+ independent artists, designers & makers at our Los Feliz show on Sunday, June 3rd. Admission is free for all ages! RSVP here
